AIKEN, SC – Cynthia Susan Whaley, age 74, passed away November 16, 2022.

Cynthia was born July 11, 1948, in Lynwood, CA to the late George Allen Porter and the late Mary Lou Porter. She proudly served in the US Marine Corps and worked in the banking industry. She was a resident of California for many years before her family moved to Aiken, SC over twenty years ago. Cynthia was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and had a love for traveling. She just returned from a trip to South Africa. She was also an avid sports fan and never met someone she couldn’t carry on a conversation with.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ronald “Bill” Whaley and a daughter, Amy Whaley.

Survivors include her sister, Karen Porter; and a brother, Mark Porter (Laurie).

Memorial services will be announced in the coming days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Friends of the Aiken County Animal Shelter or The Albrecht SPCA.
