Obituary of Willadene Elizabeth Phelps

AIKEN, SC – Willadene Elizabeth Phelps, age 97, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 10, 2022.

Mrs. Phelps was born October 22, 1925, in Alma, Nebraska to the late Reginald Arthur Bowles and the late Ada Robb Bowles. Her passions were gardening, cooking, baking, and trading stocks. She traveled extensively with her husband’s engineering career with Bechtel. She had a love for Cairn Terrier’s, especially her Sadie May.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edsel Phelps.

Survivors include a daughter, Melody K. Sheehan (James); a son, Reginald Ray Phelps (Susan); five grandchildren, Matthew Buckner, Michelle Johanson, Megan McElwain, Kevin Phelps, and Lauren Ball; and ten great-grandchildren.
