Obituary of Joellyn Ruth Rabias
AIKEN, SC – Joellyn Ruth Rabias, age 83, passed away at home peacefully on November 2, 2022.
Mrs. Rabias was born July 9, 1939 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to the late Allen and Lucille Hall. She received her bachelor’s degree in music education from Michigan State University. She served as a church organist and choir director for over thirty-five years. Mrs. Rabias made Woodside Plantation in Aiken, SC her home in December 2000, having previously lived in Brighton, Michigan. Her greatest passion was glorifying the Lord and sharing the gifts He gave her to serve Him. She had a love for music and teaching Jr. High School children music. She could bring music out of people that couldn’t sing. She was a gracious entertainer and had a smile that people truly felt. She enjoyed playing golf and had a keen sense of humor. She enjoyed traveling each year to see family in Traverse City, Michigan.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Robert John “Bob” Rabias; a daughter, Anne Marcille Klimek (Paul); a son, David Allen Rabias (Sheri); two grandchildren, Noelle and Sydney Klimek; a sister, Gloria Janke (Fred); and a sister-in-law, Delphine Brockman.
The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2022, at New Covenant Presbyterian Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at the church at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be private in Southlawn Cemetery.
