My heart-felt sympathies go out to the entire Filmon family. I grew up in College Acres with Jeff and Wayne so many years ago. Doris was always so kind to all the children in the neighborhood. I loved her adventurous spirit and kind heart. I will keep you in my prayers in the days ahead. Love to all of you.

Aunt Doris, you gave me my love of art. You stood by my side at my loneliest time. Your letters brought me the joy and comfort of a trusting friend. You gave me some of your precious time and I will treasure those memories always. I know that we will get to see each other again one day because you taught me the way home. Thank you for everything.

I am very sorry for your loss. Mr. Filmon once gave me a new Baptist Hymnal for my high school graduation. She inscribed it. I think of her when I use it. May God comfort you.
Mr. and Mrs. Filmon were so good to me when I lived in Aiken. I was always welcome in their home no matter how late it was. I am so glad that I got to spend time with them before they moved into assisted living. She had the kindest heart and the best sense of humor. So thankful that she was in my life.
