I lost my best friend August 30th, 2007, after 27 years of friendship.
Jo and I were more like sisters than friends. My family was Jo's family and vice-versa. She loved my daughter, Melanie, and my 3 grandsons, and I love her family.
I met Jo when taking the school bus driver's class. After finishing the class, we drove for South Aiken, at Oakwood-Windsor. Jo left driving a school bus and went to work for ASCO.
I was in an abusive and adulterous marriage, and left alone alot. I was with Jo and Anthony, most all the time, going to eat with them, etc.
Anthony became like a brother to me, as well. Poor Anthony looked like he had two wives for a while, since I was always there.
I'm surprised I didn't wear out my welcome!
I later moved back to my hometown in Florida, and out of a bad marriage. We stayed in touch, with Jo asking me every time she talked to me, when I was moving back! Jo missed me, as much as I missed her!
We got together every time I came back to visit my daughter, and we always tried to go to Ming-Mings to eat, since Jo knew I loved to go there.
Through the years, we've shared many a laugh and loads of tears.
Jo was a warm, loving, and caring person, who loved her family dearly.
Jo was always a ray of sunshine when I spent time with her. I have the most beautiful memories, and I will cherish them forever.
Jo will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends.
We all have to remember Jo's in a better place than we are.
My love and condolences to the family,
Mary
