Obituary of Maudeen "Dink" Scott

Maudeen “Dink” Scott, age 77, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022.

Mrs. Scott was born April 21, 1945 in Aiken, SC to the late Ansel E. Dyar and the late Salley Wilson Dyar. She was a life-long area resident and of the Pentecostal faith. She worked for Clearwater Finishing Plant but her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and caretaker to many children who referred to her as “Granny Dink.” She also was an avid gardener and loved being outside and kept a meticulous yard.

Survivors include two sons, David Scott (Aimee) and Kirby Scott (Michele); four grandchildren, Hunter Scott (Jordan), Garrett Scott (Alison), Gage Scott (Brooke), and Reagan Scott; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Mauldin and Ruth Dyar; and one brother, David Dyar (Dot).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Grady Scott; and two sisters, Alda Coleman and Lois Price.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at George Funeral Home with the funeral following at 3:00 p.m. in The George Funeral Chapel. Pastor Richie Enlow will officiate. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery with the Rev. Graham Bennett officiating. Pallbearers will be Chester Enlow, Darrell Price, Bryan Dyar, and her Great Nephews of the Dyar family.
