Obituary of Lois Edna Storey
AIKEN, SC – Lois Edna Storey, age 82, passed away June 9, 2022.
Miss Edna, as she was affectionately known, was born October 28, 1939 in Aiken, SC to Lucille Rodgers and the late Herbert Cook. She was a life-long resident of Aiken County. She took over the family business, Storey’s Grocery, which was started by her grandparents on Hwy. 19. She owned and operated the business for thirty-eight years. The business was a fixture in the community and was known as an “old country store.” Miss Edna loved her store and the customers that visited. She doted on her family, especially her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was a long-time member of Old Time Gospel Church in Eureka, SC.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Thomas Storey; an infant daughter, Debra Ann Storey; and a brother, Ellis Cook.
Survivors include her mother, Lucille Rodgers; two daughters, Beverly Bledsoe (Frank Menard) and Tonya Fulmer (Paul) Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren, Kenny, Timmy, Randy, and Joshua Bledsoe, Marshall Tyler, and Jerrica Cook; great-grandchildren, Tristian, Lara, Zachary, Mattie, Hayden, Rowan, Jameson, Jaden, Asher, Sherie, and Cain; and a sister, Jeanette Staley (Bill).
The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at George Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. in The George Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Benson officiating. Private interment will be in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
