Pauline Charlotte Tarbox Alexander, 91, widow of the late Grover Mac Alexander, passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 3, 2022.

Born in Columbus, Ohio on January 7, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Donald Stuart & Juanita Lamb Tarbox. She and her husband resided in Aiken since 1952. She was a longtime member of St. Paul United Methodist in New Ellenton where she was a member of the sanctuary choir and spearheaded the church library. In addition to her active work within the church she was also a member of the ACTS ministry, Aiken County Meals of Wheels, the Hitchcock Rehabilitation Center and home health provider to many within the community. She also was an avid reader, a devoted bird watcher, a flower enthusiast and seashell collector. She loved to sit and read a book while sitting beside the ocean at Edisto Beach and listening to the crashing waves. Above all these things however, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished every minute of time with her family.

Mrs. Alexander is survived by a daughter, Vera Lynn Alexander of Aiken; a son, William “Bill” Alexander of Leesville, a sister; Claudia (Bob) Tisdale of Cary, NC; a brother, David (Betty Rose) Tarbox of Myrtle Beach, SC; a son-in-law, Hank Drawdy of Aiken; 2 granddaughters, Erika (Phillip) Ramsey of New Ellenton & Lea DiFranco of Aiken; two great grandchildren, Brayden Ramsey & Jace Ramsey of New Ellenton and her beloved cat, Turk.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Alexander was pre-deceased in death by a daughter, Charlotte Faye Drawdy; a grandson, Timothy Toole;  a daughter-in-law, Tina Marie Alexander; and siblings, John Tarbox, Earnest Tarbox, Bobby Tarbox, Mary T. Roberts, & Katy Tarbox.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 2:00p.m. in the sanctuary of St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joseph Kovas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
