Obituary of Philip M. Gagnon
AIKEN, SC – Philip M. Gagnon, age 85, entered into rest June 2, 2022.
Mr. Gagnon was born September 22, 1936, in Ann Arbor, MI to the late Philip G. Gagnon and the late Lucille Brogan Gagnon. He proudly served his country in the US Army and graduated from The University of Notre Dame in 1958. Mr. Gagnon made Aiken, SC his home in 1963. He was the owner and operator of Interstate Marketing in the Aiken and Augusta area for over forty years. A life-long Catholic, he was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church where he married his beloved wife and was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. He was an avid Notre Dame Football fan, enjoyed playing golf with his family, vacationing every summer at Hilton Head Island, and being a voracious reader.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Robert Lavery.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Mary Louise DiFilippo Gagnon; a son, P. Michael Gagnon; a daughter, Denise G. Eubanks (Raymond C. Eubanks III); and two grandchildren, Shannon Eubanks and Megan Eubanks.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Old Historic St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Park Ave. Final prayers and commendation will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
