Aiken, SC----Joseph James DeGange, 86, husband of Mrs. Doris Alice DeGange, died Thursday, May 15, 2003 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Funeral Services will be private. Born in North Stonington, CT, Joe was the son of the late Francesca and Rosario DeGange. He served his country in the US Marine Corp. during WWII. He went on to be the Founder and Owner of Western Pile & Construction Company in Hamilton, Ontario. Later, he served as Town Manager of Ocean Ridge, FL. Mr. DeGange also lived in Santa Fe, NM before moving to Aiken, SC in 2001. Survivors include his wife Doris; sons: Robert James DeGange, Aiken, SC and Stephen Joseph DeGange, Berkeley, CA, grandchildren: Kristine Wilber, Chicago, IL, Laura Rubin, Rockville, MD, and Powell S DeGange, Berkeley, CA; and one great grandson Charles J. Wilber, Chicago, IL. Joe loved his children, grandchildren and great grandson with all his heart and made the best red sauce anyone?s ever had. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial donations be made to the Barbara Sinatra Children?s Center at Eisenhower Medical Center, 39000 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, CA.
