Obituary of David Lynn Prough
Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
AIKEN, SC: We are saddened by the sudden loss of our beloved Dave. A kind-hearted gentleman, he was loved by everyone he knew, especially his wife, Patricia Prough.
Dave will always be legendary in the hearts of his family and friends for his kindness and willingness to help others in need. Born in Jackson, MI, and graduated with a BA in Business from Western Michigan University, he later moved to several cities across the country while working in banking, and finally settled in Omaha, NE for 14 years. After retirement, he made Aiken, SC his home for the past 8 years and enjoyed spending time closer to family. As an active and healthy man, Dave was never content to truly retire, so he worked in the maintenance department at Woodside POA. He loved being outdoors working on projects, hunting, fishing, and going on new adventures with his wife, Patty.
Dave is survived by his wife, Patricia Prough; his mother, Betty Jean Griffin of Aiken; brother, Michael (Julie) Griffin of Aiken; half-brothers, Daniel & Donald Prough of Jackson, MI; daughter, Kelley (John) Stuckey – Omaha, NE; niece, Leslie (Nicholas) Spicer of Aiken; nephew, Travis (Kara Beth) Griffin of Aiken; stepdaughter, Amy (Jeff) Heldt of Omaha, NE; stepson, Shane (Alice) Coffman of Owasso, OK; and grandchildren, Katy Stuckey & Bo Stuckey of Omaha, NE, Sam, Noah, and Anna Heldt of Omaha, NE, and Ada Coffman of Owasso, OK. Words cannot express how much we will all miss him.
Loved ones with whom Dave now joins in death include his father, Richard Prough of Jackson, MI; his “Dad”, Gilbert John Griffin of Aiken; and half-sister, Denise Prough of Jackson, MI.
