Obituary of Nancy Flasher

AIKEN, SC: Nancy was born and raised February 25, 1939 in Orlando, FL and died of kidney failure on November 14, 2021.
She has lived in Aiken, SC since her retirement on July 1, 2004.
Nancy attended schools at Princeton Elementary; Memorial Jr. High School; Edgewater High School; and The King’s College, Briarcliff Manor, NY. She majored in Physical Education.
She married in Orlando, FL in 1959. Nancy had 2 sons, Leon, Jr and Gordon. Throughout her marriage, they lived in Jefferson Valley, NY, Columbia, SC, Orlando, FL, Savannah, GA and Clarkston, GA.
Nancy worked just about her whole adult life. Most of her work was caring for very mentally ill people. She worked at several nursing homes, assisted living facilities, 5 hospitals in Orlando, FL, SC State Hospital and Lakeside Alternative – a hospital who treated crisis intervention, and had inpatient units for children thru adults who were mentally ill. She was Employee of the Month and worked 25 years as the court liaison for the Mental Health Circuit Court in Orlando, FL. She loved her work.
Nancy’s interests were listening to spiritual music, and John Philip Sousa’s marches, sports and fan of SC Gamecocks and FL Gators, Atlanta Braves, and USA Women’s Soccer. She enjoyed watching TV’s reality shows. Nancy played the Cornet all through school and during church services. Nancy loved her Lord and Savior, and spent many hours a day reading her bible, devotional books, and praying. She prayed daily for Croft house staff and residents.
Nancy loved Croft house and her homey, comfortable apartment, #315. She lived 14 years at Croft House and was very thankful for the Croft House and the loving caring staff.
Those who remained in Nancy’s life of whom she is very thankful for are long time devoted friends, Mary Lou, Anna, Nan, Lori, Jean, Pat and Mary C., Jackie, Karen, Don and Mary. May God bless each and every one.
