Obituary of James Michael Jones
Aiken, SC: James Michael (Mike) Jones, age 65, of Aiken, S.C. husband of Andrea Seigler Jones and son of the late James Walter Jones and Alice Tinnell Jones Pitts entered rest on Saturday, October 1, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Mike was born in Greenville, S.C., on August 15, 1956, but spent most of his life in Aiken, S.C. He loved his family and friends with all his heart. He will be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives that he has touched during the 65 years that God has granted him on this earth; however, death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his friends and loved ones.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Adrena Jones and Jamie Jones both of Aiken: brothers, Gary (Kelli), Jeff (Susan) and Terry Jones and the late Ricky Jones (Dee) all of Aiken, S.C. He retired after 28 years of service as a mechanic for the Aiken County Public School District. Mike had a love for dirt track racing and spent many years racing and as a car owner. He also had a passion for music, especially playing the drums and played in the band LOCO. He also spent most Sundays playing drums at church. Mike loved the outdoors, spending many weekends fishing, and camping at the lake and the beach. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and regularly met on Tuesdays along with other Pastors at a Tuesday Prayer Breakfast at Millbrook Baptist Church.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Historic George Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Frazier and the Rev. Brad Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Graniteville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, October 8, 2021 from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Historic George Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803) 649.6234.
