Obituary of Ernestine Moak Hudson

AIKEN, SC – Ernestine Moak Hudson, age 92, entered into rest Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at her home surrounded by family.

Mrs. Hudson was born May 7, 1929 in Irmo, SC to the late Lester Sylvester Moak and the late Martha Bickley Moak. She graduated from Irmo High School and retired after thirty-three years of service with Aiken Electric Coop. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Edisto Baptist Church where she served as church clerk from 1957 until 2021 and church secretary and treasurer from 2008 until 2021.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Moseley.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-seven years, Edward O’Neal Hudson; a daughter, Dolores Wheeland; two grandchildren, Traci Lietzow (Andrew) and Hannah Wheeland; and a sister, Elouise Boyleston.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at George Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in The George Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carl Kleinholz officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
