I was very saddened to hear about Paul's passing. While I have not seen Paul since we graduated from Aiken High School, I still remember what a very nice person he was; what a great smile he had. May God hold you in His mighty, yet tender grasp and bring you through this very difficult time.

Paul was one of a kind. I had just gotten to know him over the past few years after working together & learning that we were both Citadel grads. Although I only knew Paul for a short time, I felt very close to him & saw very quickly what a huge heart he had. We are deeply saddened by his passing and will keep his family in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Ms. Cude and family,
I am saddened for the loss of a brother from India Company - Class of '88. Paul, Lorick Atkinson, Harm Lamaker, and I were roommates during our sophomore year at the Citadel.
Those were some really special times although not always easy. "Cude" was always one to keep us laughing and smiling. There are a couple of sayings that I still use that were authored by Paul - I say them when things get hectic and I need to laugh and move on - my wife has taken them as well.
Paul was a good friend and I have great memories of our time at the Citadel.
Know you are in my prayers as you learn to live without a special member of your family.
With much sympathy,
Steven P. Jones

Like Debbie, and Beth, and Edward, I remember the fun of the Westcliff/ Aiken Drug Store/ Aiken High days, and Paul was a big part of them for me. He was a great friend, and a good, kind soul. I regret that I had not talked to him in a long time, but I thought about him often, and will miss him dearly. He was one of a kind, and my heart goes out to you all for your loss.

Dear Family: I was saddened when I heard of Paul's passing. He stayed with us so many times in Charleston. He loved to go out on our boat and fish. He fished so many South Carolina Governor's Cup Tournaments with us. He was a member of our family and will be missed. My children grew up with Paul always around. May God wrap his arms of comfort around this family. "Cude" always was a kind and loving person. God bless you.

Don't Grieve for me, now i'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found peace at the close of the day. If my parting left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss ah yes, those things I too will miss. Be not burdened with time of sorrow, I wish you sunshine of tommorrow. My life's been full, I've savored much. Good friends, good times, and undue grief. Lift your heart and share with me, God wanted me now , he set me free....Rest in peace Paul.

As I wrote to Clint on his Facebook page, I was saddened to hear of your loss. Please know how very sorry I am. Even though I had not seen Paul for many, many years, I have very fond memories of Paul from childhood through high school...playing basketball in my driveway, school bus rides, Westcliff pool, riding his motorcycle around my yard scaring my mother like crazy, pulling for our Gamecocks and just remembering Paul's sweet and caring nature. May happy memories carry you through this sorrowful time. God bless!

When Paul passed away, someone close to us died.We have so many questions running through our minds at the time we just don't understand it.We will will never forget Paul in our memories. The memories of Paul will stay with us wherever we go in life.Your heart fills with love when you think of him.You have the memories to pass on to your children; stories that are funny and make you laugh when you tell them. In a way your loved ones are still alive with you always. You cherish the time you had with him. As long as you remember him through stories he is never truly gone. He is always close by, with a smile and a hug.How we handle our sadness is what is important to our lives and the lives of those around us.It takes time to get pass the pain of losing Paul. There will come a time when you can pull out the old pictures and photo albums. You will remember his face, pictures when they were taken and what you were doing at the time. The ones close to us will have the memories of us.
