Obituary of Robert L. Plaunt

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert L. Plaunt of Aiken, SC, passed away June 7, 2021, at the age of 85. A devoted family man and a master of technology he has sent his last email and is now giving a long awaited embrace to his much missed wife of 47 years, Marguerite, who predeceased him by 15 years.

He will be known for his ever positive outlook on life, his dedication to charity of all kinds, his ability to listen to any and every tale a family member could bring him, and his almost daily emails like: “Household items that should never go down the drain” (I thought you all should know), or “7 people put on color blind glasses for the first time” (Some unfortunate people are provided A BLESSING WE OFTEN TAKE FOR GRANTED!), or one of our favorites “HAPPY VALENTINES DAY”  (As part of my daily reflections, I have been thinking/praying for each and every one of you. I have been blessed to have you in my life and wanted to acknowledge the happy and fond memories you have provided me!).

He will be lovingly remembered by his four children, Gregory (Margo) of Savannah, GA; James Todd (Kandy) of Sylvania, MI; Gary (Debbie) of Macomb, MI; Paraise (Gerry) Wood of Aiken, SC, and 7 grandchildren he would insist we name: Britney, Kane, Kayla, MacNeill, Matthew, Robert, and Samantha.

A reception will be held in Michigan on the 24th of June from 1 PM to 3 PM at The Gazebo Banquet Center on 31104 Mound Rd, Warren, MI 48092. We are sure all he would ask in his memory is that you send an unexpected note to someone you love and close it with an emoji as would he!

The Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803.649.6234), has charge of arrangements.
