Obituary of Rae Lynn Harris
AIKEN, SC – Rae Lynn Harris, age 69, entered into rest Friday, April 23, 2021 at University Hospital.
Rae Lynn Harris was born August 10, 1951 in Atlanta, GA to James Raymond Greengrass and Catherine Hicks Greengrass who preceded her in death.
She graduated in Marietta, GA from Wheeler High School in 1969. She played basketball and was tenacious on defense. After graduating high school, she lived in multiple areas in Georgia and Texas before settling in Trenton, SC.
Her interests included karaoke, dancing, gardening, traveling, sporting events, shopping, cooking, raising animals and raising her kids. She was most proud of her family, siblings and parents. She cared about others and would put others first before herself.
She devoted her time and energy as a caregiver to any family member who needed a listening ear or support. She was a rock and backbone to her friends and family. Her charm, charisma and smile could brighten up any given moment. She was a rebel, strong and had a feisty side that only could come from that natural red hair.
Rae Lynn spent her last remaining years helping to take care of her aging parents, talking with her siblings, encouraging and celebrating her grandkids accomplishments both near and far; as well as, spending time with boyfriend, Ronnie Hall.
Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Miller (Jermaine), including grandkids Alauna and Alex, of McKinney, TX and Jermaine Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Catherine Harding (Chris), including grandkids Christina, Annalyn and CJ, of Graniteville, SC; step daughter, Beth Johnson (Sam), including grandkids Rechelle, Ray, Matthew, and Crystal, along with seven (7) great grandkids; step son David Harris (Angie), including grandkids Emily and Lance; step son Wendell Harris, including grandchild Justin, both of which preceded her in death; step daughter Becky Jones (Scott), including grandkids Eva, Samantha, and Melissa; siblings include big brother James Greengrass (Cecelia); and, two little sisters Katherine Lee and Jenny Thrower (Harvey).
