AIKEN, SC – William Browning Payne, age 79, entered into rest April 19, 2021.

Mr. Payne was born July 26, 1941 in Macon, GA to the late William Wanzie Payne and Alice Simpson Payne. Mr. Payne was a sheet metal mechanic and retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was a long-time resident of Warner Robins, GA, having made Aiken, SC his home since August 2020. He was a devout Christian and loved to read. He was a quiet but distinguished man – with wisdom beyond his years. Mr. Payne took pride in anything he did. He loved all of his children unconditionally. He will be missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Bobby Payne, and brother and sister Ernest and Iris Collins.

Survivors include his wife of over fifty years, Peggy Payne; a daughter, Tammie Dunagan (Norman), Aiken, SC; two sons, William Payne and Keith Payne, both of Warner Robins, GA; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Mathis (Wayne); and a brother, Sandy Payne.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 at The Warner Robins Church of The Nazarene, with Pastor David Miller officiating. Interment will be private in Magnolia Cemetery.
