Ruth J. Larkin, age 89, died April 14, 2021, at home.

Mrs. Larkin was born September 18, 1931 in Illinois to the late John and Mildred Jennings. She had been a resident of Aiken, SC for over thirty years. She was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and talented painter with an affinity for landscapes. Many of her paintings were inspired by her and her husband's travels around the world. Mrs. Larkin's final art exhibition took place in 2011. She also had a strong love for animals.
 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel C. Larkin; a daughter, Linda Larkin Smith; and a granddaughter, Ashley Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel C. Larkin (Glenda Hart) and John Larkin, all of Aiken, SC.
 

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2012 at George Funeral Home in downtown Aiken. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in The George Funeral Chapel, The Rev. Dr. Fred W. Andrea III officiating.
