Obituary of Carolyn Moseley Brown
AIKEN, SC – Carolyn P. (Patty) Moseley Brown 85 went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Henry Platt Moseley, Sr. and Marie Harsey Moseley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years James A. Brown, Sr. and her son, James A. Brown, Jr. Mrs. Brown was the last remaining survivor of her siblings: Mildred Moseley (sister) and brothers; Henry P. Moseley, Jr., Julian Moseley, Thomas (Tom) Moseley and Stanley Moseley.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her only grandson whom she cherished greatly, James Patrick Folk, her daughter, Carolyn B. Folk (son-in-law Jim Folk), and niece Judy Moseley Maness, who she helped to raise. She is further survived by her cousin, Martha Moseley and many special nieces and nephews, who she truly loved.
Mrs. Brown was a native and lifelong resident of Aiken, SC. During high school she worked for her friend, Louie Alvanos, at his restaurant, and would later graduate from Jack’s Cosmetology College after her children were grown. She loved working in her yard with her flowers and trees.
She was a life-time member of Levels Baptist Church. She loved her Church and Church family and looked forward to being in Church whenever her health permitted. She was a strong witnessing Christian who loved God. Each time she spent in the hospital, the Doctors and nurses would share how she was witnessing, singing hymns, and talking about God.
Even though she had been in the hospital multiple times for strokes, each time she won those hard battles. However, this time she passed from complications of Covid. She was a strong fighter, and 2 Timothy 4:7 is a most accurate description of our precious mother and grandmother, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have remained faithful.”
Each time you saw her she had a gleam in her eyes, an infectious smile, and a hug for you.
The family extends thanks to the kind and loving caregivers from University Health Care, Nancy Wates, Godofredo Cruz, and Dana Reese. Each of these people took good care of Mrs. Brown and became family.
A special thanks for the kindness and constant great care that was provided by Dr. Clayton Miller and staff of Family Physicians of NA.
