Wayland was a dear friend of mine. We shared many lunches together when we were members of Aiken Rotary Club. He always had a great story to tell, as we traded stories of local history and other mutual interests.
He will be missed, but his memory will remain.

While we were not fortunate enough to meet Mr. Lamar we are blessed to be friends with his lovely daughter Mary Swan. Mary Swan inherited her father’s gift of story telling and has entertained us with stories of visits to Aiken and guests at the August National. Our sympathies to the family for their loss in these difficult times. We hope to be able to visit with Mary Swan in the near future to hear more stories. You are in our thoughts, Stephen and Terry Drahos

Krista,
You have my prayers and my caring heart as you mourn the loss of Wayland. I know that you loved him and that your life will have a forever empty void without him. In the days and weeks ahead of you I will continue to whisper prayers for your strength as you adjust to living life on this side of heaven without him while he is living the beautiful life with Jesus.
After reading his beautiful tribute my first thought was, "What a guy, and what a life he lived!"
All my love,
Anne Moss
