Obituary of Lenwood S. Johnson

AIKEN, SC – Lenwood S. “Sam” Johnson, age 71, entered into rest Saturday, January 16, 2021.

Mr. Johnson was born March 14, 1949 to the late Normal S. Johnson and Virginia J. Johnson. He was a life-long area resident. He retired from the Maintenance Department at the Aiken County School District. He was the clerk at North Aiken Church of God. Mr. Johnson enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, and feeding birds at the Waffle House.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Miriam D. Johnson; “adopted children,” Roger Pennington (Joyce) and Shane Hall (Melissa), all of Aiken, SC; and cousin, Tissie.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at George Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in The George Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Harbin officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Roger Pennington, Shane Hall, Dalton Hall, Ethan Hall, Logan Pennington, and Thomas Ferron.
