Nancy will be remembered as a kind and gentle spirit, always eager to share a smile or a thoughtful expression of love and friendship. I enjoyed her reading as a Lector at Mass, and her fun camaraderie as a participant in Women's Retreats, where we shared our love of Jesus, Mary and our Catholic faith. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on forever in my heart as a sister in Christ. May she be welcomed in the kingdom of God and rest in eternal peace. As a former member of St. Mary’s Prayer Shawl ministry I wanted to share this picture from 2016 of the group of ladies I was blessed to come to know, with Nancy being one of them. I moved to Aiken about 12 years ago & decided to join this group having knitted briefly in my youth. I needed help! Nancy took me under her wing & with great patience, determination & love guided me back to the proper techniques of knitting. As a group we prayed, we laughed, we shared our stories & ultimately found magic when we donated our projects to someone in great need in the lifting of spirit...whether they were faced with a diagnosis of cancer or other illness or maybe someone who just experienced the loss of a loved one & needed comfort. Nancy was one of those shinning stars. She was a very accomplished knitter & I will always remember her kindness to me. Shirley Myers

Nancy was such special person. Her warm smile and hug that would greet me when I walked into church always brightened our Sunday morning. She endeared herself to my son and our family when our son was very young and she saved his special blanket that was getting destroyed and falling apart. Her brilliant plan and hard work saved the blanket and a young boy's heart. We miss you! May you rest in God's eternal peace. I am grateful that God put you in our lives! Colleen Wittenborn
