Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Eugene Henry Orwat will be celebrated Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at 10 AM at St. Mary?s Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken, SC, with Father Venancio Amidar, celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Aiken, SC. Mr. Orwat, 81, of Aiken, SC, died Tuesday, morning, June 14, 2005 at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center, Aiken, SC. Born in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Michael and Mary Trembacz Orwat, he had been a resident of Cheektowaga, NY, prior to coming to Aiken, SC, in October of 1999. Eugene was a very active fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Justin Council #5670, St. Hyanchints Men?s Choir, I.J. Paderewski Singing Circle, the Resurrection Roman Catholic Church Choir, the Holy Name Society, and was a member of the Depew American Legion Post #1528 and a life member of Twin Village Post #463. He was a life member of the DAV Post #43 of Aiken, SC. He retired as a Dispatcher from Bell Aerospace after thirty-four years of service and was an Insurance Broker and Real Estate Salesperson. Mr. Orwat proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the 87th Infantry Division, the Golden Acorns, and was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Dorothy Gawryszewska Orwat, son, Dennis Eugene Orwat, Laurie Jean and grandchildren Christie Lea, Dennis Eugene, Jr., and Melissa Sue Orwat, Aiken, SC. He was preceded in death by brothers Stephen, Thadeus, Stanley, Arthur, and sister Lorraine Kawecki. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic School, P.O.
