Obituary of Lucinda Jane Niland

AIKEN, SC – Lucinda “Cindy” Niland died Friday, December 18, 2020. She was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. and Jean Niland, and her brother, Mr. John “Sean” T. Niland, Jr.

Ms. Niland received a B.A. degree in History and a M.ED. degree in Guidance and Counseling from Winthrop College. She received an ED.S. degree in Educational Administration from USC – Columbia. Ms. Niland worked as a teacher, a guidance counselor, and an administrator in the districts of York County and Aiken County School districts. She retired after thirty years of service.

In previous years, Ms. Niland had worked as a volunteer with the York County and Aiken County Mental Health Associations, the Aiken County Help Line, and the SPCA. As an avid golfer, Ms. Niland enjoyed memberships and friendships at the Aiken Golf Club and Cedar Creek Country Clubs.

As a devoted lover of dogs and all animals, Ms. Niland would ask donations be made to The Albrecht SPCA Center for Animal Welfare, 199 Willow Run Rd., Aiken, SC 29801.
