AIKEN, SC – William “Bill” Cobbs Jr., age 81, passed away July 23, 2020.

Bill was born October 7, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late William C. Cobbs Sr. and the late Margaret Elliott Cobbs. He proudly served his country in the US Army and retired as an Electrical Engineer with Westinghouse / Savannah River Site. He had been a resident of Aiken, SC since 1988 and was a communicant of St. Gerard’s Catholic Church. Bill enjoyed flying model airplanes, fishing, and being around family.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife of forty-five years, Helen “Jackie” Cobbs; two daughters, Suzanne J. Birk (Otis), Summerville, SC and Jacqueline M. Norman, Orlando, FL; a son, Jerry Cobbs (Camilla), Aiken, SC; a sister, Rosalind Waller (Arthur), Pittsburgh, PA; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren (one on the way), five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law (who thought of him as a brother).A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 138 Fairfield St SE, Aiken, SC 29801, with Father Rafael Emmanuel as celebrant. Final Prayers and Commendation, with Military Honors, will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
