AIKEN, SC – Therese A. McCreesh, age 86, entered into rest Monday, June 22, 2020.

 

Therese McCreesh was born June 20, 1934 in New York to parents Francis and Elivra Schidmt Kelly.  She married Bernard McCreesh in 1956 and together they raised five children on Long Island, NY. Therese moved to Aiken, SC in 2001 and made it her home. She was a faithful communicant of the St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Catherine Lewis, Aiken, SC, Jean Heavey, Clayton, NC; three sons, James McCreesh (Terri), Voorhees, NJ, John McCreesh (Adrienne), St. James, NY, Kevin McCreesh, Yaphank, NY;  a brother, Kenneth Kelly, Orlando, FL; a sister, Francis Gagliano, Tampa, FL; and thirteen grandchildren.

 

Therese McCreesh was active in the St. Mary’s church community. Therese was an ecumenical minister and provided loving support for many St Mary’s activities and Catholic charities.  She was particularly devoted to the ministry of the Legion of Mary serving for years as president of the St. Mary’s chapter.  She regularly provided communion, prayers, and comfort to St Mary’s parishioners in the hospital and local nursing homes.  Therese McCreesh was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.  She was always ready to interrupt her routine to help her family with practical and moral support for all of life's challenges.

 

Arrangements will be announced. 

 

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
