Love & prayers to Mrs. Leverett, Pam , Ken & the rest of your family of the passing of Mr. Leverett.
One of my favorite childhood memories is going to Leverett Shoe Store & being greeted by Mr. Leverett! I remember Mr. Leverett and his jovial , happy smile & demeanor! I remember asking him once if he was Italian & he replied & he would laugh & say " No, because I can't sing & Italians can sing!" Mr. Leverett 's smile , warm , loving personality & his laughter would light up the room wherever he went!
My parents, Dan & Betty Temples were very blessed to have Mr. & Mrs. Leverett's as dear friends.
My parents told me numerous times that they would go out to dinner together & Mr. Leverett would ask " Who wants seafood for dinner? " They would all agree & Mr. Leverett would then drive to Charleston to have a fresh seafood dinner! Mr. Leverett was a loyal friend to all . He was always willing to help people in any way that he could. The world needs more sweet people like Mr. Leverett ! He will be greatly missed & the Legacy of Love will continue with the Love that he shared with his family & all that knew Mr. Leverett.
Love & prayers,
Janet Temples Blanks

Mr. Leverette was one of the kindest and truly most interesting neighbors we ever had. During our 12 years living next to them they were the BEST neighbors anyone could have. I still remember Leverette taking a brown bag lunch and a cup of coffee in the morning and into his truck he went riding through the countryside, sometimes as much as 300 miles round trip daily in his later years. He always had a story to spin and a joke to tell. Leverette shoes was the only place I could find nice shoes for my bunions and wide feet. I am lost without their store of friendly people and smiling faces always ready to help. RIP Mr. Leverette. You are with our loving Lord and I am quite sure you have added another bright light to the angels...Carolyn & Jerry Miller

Our condolences to your family. We bought all our shoes at Leverett's, and Samantha was 2 years old when she introduced to shoes by Leverett's and later worked for you. Mr. Leverett called all the boys "Charlie" and all the girls "Sam". When he asked our Sam how she was doing, she turned around and asked him in an indignant 2 year manner how he knew her name.
Love to you all.

Alva, your husband was one of the kindest men I ever met. He was a great help to me in correcting a foot problem with my son as he learned to walk. I loved the way he always had a smile on his face & in his eyes. I’m sorry for your loss but so happy that y’all had a long life together.

Mr. Leverett was a great man and a tremendous influence in my life. He gave me a job thought me how to drive and gave me a love for the ocean during our visits to Dafuskie island. Once he took me to a piece of property he owned and wanted cleated. There was a bulldozer there and I told him I didn’t know how to operate it. He said neither do I, I’ll be back at 5;00 and you can teach me. I loved spending time with him and his son always keeping Mrs. Leverett wondering what we were up to. Aiken will be a little sadder without his never ending smile, his edegy wit and crazy sense of humor. Rest well Mr. Leverett and I will see you on the other side. Prayers and well wishes to Ken, Pam, and Mrs. Leverett
