He loved the children so much and they really enjoyed seeing him. He was one of the smartest men and always talked about how tough and amazing Aunt Lucy was. I loved talking about India with him. He was absolutely bright and loved his children and family so much. Uncle Ed and Aunt Lucy visits were one of our favorite memories as a family. I'm very sad for all of you but he left such a great legacy within each and every one of you. Lots of hugs to all. We will say a lot of rosaries for him. Love you Uncle Ed and Aunt Lucy and all of you. You are all incredible people! Love you!

I have only good memories of time spent with Ed in countless meetings and trips during his years at SRP/SRL. He was a true gentleman and willingly shared his knowledge with those of us who had much less experience and training. Prayers are lifted for all the family. Bruce Wilson

My condolences to the family of Edward Albenesius. I pray God continues to comfort and strengthen the family during this time of bereavement. May the many cherished and fond memories of Edward continue to comfort his family and friends. A comforting thought is at Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." May you all have calming and pleasant thoughts during this time.

It was with a great sense of sadness that I read of Ed's passing this morning; but also with a great sense of joy as I spent some time remembering Ed. I worked for Ed for several years during my 41-year tenure at SRS. Ed was truly ahead of his time both in management style and in radioactive waste management. The truth of the matter is that Ed made my career in many ways. He gently, but persistently, prodded me to try various things that I really didn't want to do but which turned out to be what was needed. I had the great honor to follow Ed in working at DOE HQ on the waste management regulations.
I consider Ed a true friend and I offer my condolences to Lucy and the family.
I'll never forget Ed.

To the family,
Our sympathies to you all on the loss of such a brilliant man who had such zest for life. He contributed so much to his world, via his curiosity, his persistence, his profession, and most lasting, his family. I am very proud to know of him through Sarah, his grand daughter and my daughter in law. I am proud that some of Edward lives on in Sarah, Cate and Maddox.
God bless you, Lucy, and all the family.
