One of my favorite memories of Sally involves her gracious hospitality and love of all things Royal. She welcomed our Huntington Court Ladies into her lovely home to witness "The" Royal Wedding. Since it was televised very early in the USA, we wore our jammies and of course proper hats and facinators created by (I believe) Suzanne and JoAnn. A jolly good time was had by all! Always the realist, Sally took most things in stride...just look at the contented smile on her sweet face.
I had the pleasure of working at Visiting Nurse Service under Sally's leadership. She was a wonderful leader who seemed to know every single one of her employees. I remember her as smart, funny and caring. What I admired most about Sally was her ability to listen and show respect. All of us felt like we could give our ideas and feedback about anything without judgement or concern. She treated everyone as equal members of the team. Her tenure at VNS was valued and her choice to integrate us with the university was the right one. You have my condolences for the loss of a great woman.
