Obituary of Edward Joseph Brockman
AIKEN, SC - Mr. Edward Joseph Brockman, 80, husband of Delphine Rabias Brockman, died December 17, 2019, surrounded by his family.
Born September 13, 1939 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Edward V. Brockman and Mary McKinney Brockman.
Ed was a great husband for nearly sixty years, father, and grandfather. He was so incredibly devoted to his Michigan State Spartans, Chicago Cubs, and his faith.
Ed was a graduate of Michigan State University where he received his degree in Business Administration.
After graduation, he began working for Ford Motor Company, where he retired after 30 years of dedicated service.
He and his wife moved to Woodside twenty-five years ago where they have enjoyed Woodside Country Club and playing golf and bridge with friends.
They have been faithful communicants of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church for 25 years.
Ed will be remembered by his wife of 56 years, Delphine Rabias Brockman; his sons, Keith (Kathie) and Daryl (Christina) Brockman; his grandchildren, Maddie, Cate, Jack, Alex and Taylor; his sister, Dorothy Brockman; and brother-in-law, Bob (Joellyn) Rabias.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 20, 2019 from 5:00 -7:00 p.m., with a prayer service being said at 6:16 p.m., all occurring at George Funeral Home in downtown Aiken.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Old Historic St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 203 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC 29801.
