Obituary of Tolbert Holmes III

AIKEN, SC – Tolbert Holmes III, age 62, entered into rest Friday, October 18, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital following a brief illness.

Tolbert was born in Queens, NY to the late Tolbert Holmes Jr. and the late Carrie Knight Holmes. He worked for Drakes Bakery in sales for many years. He had made Aiken, SC his home since 2007, having previously lived in Jamaica & St. Albans, NY. He enjoyed sports such as basketball, football, and fishing. He was a very giving person with a caring and reliable personality who is loved by all his family, and he loved his family the same.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 38 years, Susan Holmes; a daughter, Aisha Holmes of NY; two sons, Tolbert Holmes IV (Justina), Queens, NY and Isaac Holmes (fiancée Saniah Johnson); two grandchildren, Zayden Holmes Williams and Ariana L. Holmes; three sisters; three brothers; and his step-father, Silverio Benitez.
