Dianne and Carl, I'm praying for God's grace and mercy to be with you both during this time of loss, for I know all too well that it is the real and true comforter. "Our family chain is broken again and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again." Today is full of memories of a brother being laid to rest, and every single one of them s filled with happiness. He was kind, with and awesome sense of humor, anxious to to help, and always a protector of his little sister. I'm so thankful that God gave me Carliss to grow with, for together at ages 4 and 5 we learned in Sunday School that "Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so"! Through good times and bad, we remained believers in Christ Jesus, and knew that this life on earth is NOT THE END! Love Forever, Mercedes McAbee

On the evening after Sept. 11, 2001, I remember Uncle Carliss calling me (in Alexandria, VA) to see if we were okay. I hadn't seen him for many years before that, but he was still taking time to check on his family. I also remember the jokes and jabs and that little black sports car he had many years ago . . . he was the the cool uncle, no doubt. Our condolences and prayers to Aunt Diane and all the family. He will be missed but I know he is now resting with the Savior (and probably drag racing someone).
