Obituary of Daniel Joseph Hatfield

Please share a memory of Daniel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Daniel Joseph Hatfield age 77 entered the arms of God on September 26, 2019.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Langley Church of God at 12:45 PM with Pastor Eddie Hardee officiating. Interment will be private.

He was preceded by Delma Marie Hatfield, his wife of 48 years. Also preceding him in death were his parents, Calvin C Hatfield, Sr. and Janie C. Hatfield, his brother Calvin C. Hatfield, Jr. and his sister Mary J. Brewer. He is survived by his sister Emily V. Rosenbrook of Aiken County. Additional survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hatfield’s smile won the hearts of everyone he met and many of his friends call him family. He was a hard worker, retired from both General Motors and AGY, formally known as Fiberglass in Aiken, SC.

He was a constant fixture in the garage of his beloved home, waving at neighbors as they passed by. Many would stop and visit awhile and perhaps enjoy a Coke or his famous spaghetti. Mr. Hatfield could be seen driving all over town and he would blow his horn in acknowledgment as he passed by. He and his sister Emily shared a special bond and checked on one another every day. Mr. Hatfield was a member of the Langley Church of God and participated through the home bound ministries program. He read his Bible daily before bed. In his final days he was cared for and surrounded by family in his sister’s home. His earthly journey ended peacefully and he will forever be missed.
