Obituary of Charles Henry Holck

A Requiem Mass for Charles Henry "Chuck" Holck will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken. Interment, with military honors, will follow afterwards at Calvary Cemetery, on University Lane. Arrangements are under the care of George Funeral Home.
Mr. Holck, 94, formerly of Aiken, recently residing in Roswell, GA, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Embracing Hospice - Forsyth, in Cumming, GA.
Born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on September 21, 1919, he was the only son of the late Marjorie Conley and Henry Dixon.
Chuck served in WWII in the US Army Signal Corps, attaining the rank of Second Lieutenant. He looked back with pride and patriotism on his personal contribution and accomplishments in that service.
He built his professional career in sales and marketing of women's apparel and fashion.
He was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church during the years that he lived in Aiken.
Around Aiken, he was known for his appreciation of new and old friends, his loving family, and his long life, well-lived and happy. He was an avid golfer as a member of the Woodside Country Club, and enjoyed following college football and listening to jazz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Cecelia Beatrice Holck, on February 14. 2005.
Survivors include his daughter Cynthia Holck Simpson and her husband Tom Simpson of Alpharetta, GA, and his son Jeffrey Charles Holck, of New York, NY.
