Obituary of Judith A Hines

NAPLES, FL- Judith A. Hines, age 89, died Wednesday, August 14, 2019. 

Mrs. Hines was born May 26, 1930 in Johnstown, PA to the late Morgan and Vera Adams.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Indiana University of PA.  She was passionate about education of young students and music. She married John Joseph Hines in 1953. Mr. & Mrs. Hines retired to Hilton Head Island in 1993 and made Aiken, SC their home in 1997 (enjoyed building the same exact house with minor upgrades!).  In Aiken, she was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and a member of Woodside Plantation Country Club.  Mrs. Hines was an avid bridge player and golfer.  She was tickled pink when receiving a plaque for a hole-in-one on the Cupp course. She has made Naples, FL her home since 2015.  She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hines was preceded in death by a son, Tim Hines; a daughter, Gretchen McClelland; and a sister, Joan Streit.

Survivors include a daughter, Liz Richard (Scott); two sons, Kevin Hines (Kim) and Christopher Hines (Bri); eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nephews, Michael Adams (Holly) and Jeff Adams (Kelly); a sister, Joyce Bracken; and a brother, Lynn Adams.

A private graveside service will be held in Southlawn Cemetery.
