Having just moved to Aiken - from Virginia - it did not take me long to learn of this great man. Reading through the obituary..I hung on every word. Clearly a most exceptional man - a role model whose life we can all honor by internalizing his character and kindness ourselves. Rest in Peace, Mr. Albrecht. I wish I could have known you in your time. My condolences to all who loved him.

My memories of Mr. and Mrs. Albrecht go back to when I was very young living in Brightmoor, Michigan. I had just recently reached out and starting communications again. When I reached out again and didn't get a response, I knew something was wrong. I am deeply saddened by this but so grateful to have allowed the Albrechts to accept me into their family. I would like to personally send my condolences to the family if given the opportunity. Please reach out to me at lewistij@gmail.com, (313) 229-2641. This little chat window is not nearly big enough to capture the words that speak to the man that Mr. Albrecht was. And it truly is as simple as that. Watch over our movements! I hope I did, and will only continue to honor your legacy and make you proud! <3

Now I know who kept calling just to thank me for my donation to the animals. His voice always enveloped me like a great big hug. I did not know him personally, but began to look forward to his calls that never failed to lift my spirits
Blessings of peace to the Albrecht family.

Dear Albrecht Family,
Please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss.
Gary and I go way back. We both pledged Delta Sigma Pi fraternity at Wayne State University at the same time. Gary was one of the most likeable guys you could know. Also, an excellent salesman with his great .personality. I bought my first life insurance from Gary. Unfortunately I hadn't seen him in years but I do remember him attending my wedding in 1959. He will be missed.

My condolences to the Albrecht family. I was saddened to hear of Gary's passing.
As a Brother fraternity member of a later generation I didn't know Gary well having met him only several times. In 2010, the governing group of the Chapter finances,
of which I was a part, sought to establish a scholarship fund for active Chapter members at WSU. However, the monies we had weren't adequate to immediately activate an endowment fund. Gary called me expressing his deeply felt appreciation of Wayne State and his fraternity. With his generosity and "give back" attitude the
Delta Sigma Pi - Gamma Theta Endowed Scholarship in the WSU School of Business was launched. To date, 9 scholarships have been awarded to Chapter members.

Dear Albrecht family,
I am so sorry for your great loss. I hope the words from our loving Creator at Rev. 21:4 that speak of a time when mourning, outcry, pain, and even death itself being no more will bring you some solace as you grieve. I am saddened to hear about the passing of Gary. I adopted our Annie from the Albrecht Center who is now a member of our family. Many times he called me personally and thanked me for sending a donation to the Albrecht Center. I always appreciated that he would take time to do so. Even though I did not know Gary I could tell he was a genuine, kind, and thoughtful man. Gary will be missed dearly. I thank you, Gary for your life of giving. God Bless you and your family.

I was honored to know Gary, Ginny, and Joy in my role at the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare. We shared being born in SE Michigan, living in SW Florida, and later both discovering the magical community of Aiken.
As a Rotarian, I also saw the generosity Gary and Ginny shared in education, in addition to their love of animals. Gary, you made a tremendous impact on so many people and helped move the animal welfare movement forward in the communities you lived in as well. Truly a life well lived. You will be greatly missed.

Dear Ginny, I am so sad to hear of your loss of Gary. His wonderful obituary did not begin to tell of all of his kindnesses. We here in Punta Gorda so remember all the fun times we shared with you and
Gary all thru the years. Golf outings, parties, anniversaries, plays, oh our trip to Ireland and of course to Blueberry Island. After my Joe died, Gary often called to say hi and ask how I was doing. You are blessed Ginny to have had him at your side for 60 years. He now rests in God's arms, free of pain. B Love to you, betty
