Today, I learned of the passing of my long-time, great friend, Randy. My heart aches with sorrow, as Randy was one of my first contacts I met when I enrolled in Clemson Univ. in 1977.
Randy and I studied under the same major, Graphic Arts/Graphic Communications, and our instructor was the wonderful Dr. J. Page Crouch. From the minute I met Randy, we instantly became best of friends.
I, being from Alexandria, Virginia, found Randy to be such a welcoming soul to a lost, out-of-state newcomer on campus. Randy would often invite me to travel with him back to Holly Hill, to meet his parents and family. Our excursions to the beach house at Garden City are memorable, as well. I have been in love with South Carolina ever since.
Randy had a zest for life, a deep-seated quality of kindness and love for people.
My deepest condolences to all of Randy's family members, as he was one special person who changed my life for the better...and forever. God rest his soul. Peace! - Chris Gallagher, Alexandria, VA
