Obituary of Patsy Simon Cain

AIKEN, SC—Patsy Simon Cain, age 80, entered into rest Sunday, December 2, 2018, at University Hospital.
 

Ms. Cain was born February 1, 1938 in Valdosta, GA to the late Dallas Simon Sr. and the late Mildred Simon. She was a resident of Aiken, SC since 1961 and a very active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, Director of the Fellowship Committee, and Young at Heart. She loved her family above all, especially her grandchildren. Ms. Cain enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, and was known for the best homemade cinnamon rolls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Chavous.

She is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Snelling (Dean), N. Augusta, SC, Kathy Sauther (Jim), Aiken, SC, and Liz Scheuer (Chris), N. Augusta, SC; two sons, Steve Cain (Gaye), Aiken, SC and Robert Cain (Michelle), N. Augusta, SC; eight grandchildren, Sara Wilson (Jeff), Drew Snelling (Caylee), Kathren Moyer (JP), Phillip Cain (Samantha), Mary Beth Bishop (Ryan), Wade Sauther, Alex Cain (Lindsey), and Hannah Cain; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dallas Simon Jr. (Pat), Harold Simon (Susan), and Mark Simon (Denise); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. John Engwall officiating. The family will receive friends at the church before the service beginning at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, 1446 Harper St, Augusta, GA 30912.
