Obituary of Marilyn Dorthea Kruger

AIKEN, SC-- Mrs. Marilyn Dorthea Kruger, 87, a resident of Aiken, SC passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018.

The daughter of Clarence and Adah Thorson, she was born and raised in Hawick, MN.

Mrs. Kruger, a graduate of St. Cloud School of Nursing, Class of 1952, was a retired Registered Nurse who worked in Minnesota, California, Missouri and here in Aiken at the Aiken Regional Medical Centers. She was also a 20 year volunteer with the Aiken Red Cross. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and cooking for all of them. Her favorite pastimes were baking bread, playing cards, including belonging to a local Bridge Club for many years. She was also an avid solver of crossword puzzles.

Married for 58 years, she was preceded in death by her husband Julius Franklin Kruger.  A loving mother of 2, grandmother of 4 and great grandmother of 6, she is survived by her son, Brian Kruger (Dorothy) of Aiken, daughter, Jackie Rowan (Robert) of Chesterfield, VA, sister, Shirley Peterson of Brooklyn Park, MN and brother, Doug Thorson (Mary Sue) of Mentor, MN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, April Verant (Frank), Kristy Kimbrell (Tommy), Jason Kruger (April) and MacKenzie Rowan as well as great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Austin Verant, Tristen and Kelsey Beard and Kennedy and Khloe Kruger and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the generosity of a donation to the Red Cross would be greatly appreciated.
