Obituary of Gerald Wilson Yonce

AIKEN, SC—Gerald “Jerry” Wilson Yonce, age 73, entered into rest Monday, October 15, 2018.

Jerry was born March 23, 1945 in Aiken, SC to the late John Wilson Yonce and the late Thelma Harley Yonce. He was a life-long area resident and farmer. He loved his work and farming. Jerry was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Katie W. Yonce; two sons, William “Jeff” Yonce (Jenny), Edgefield, SC and John A. Yonce (Janna), Aiken, SC; two step-sons, Avery H. Snipes Jr. and Ryan K. Snipes (Laurie), Aiken, SC; a sister Elaine Y. Parker, Edgefield, SC; eight grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM Friday, October 19, 2018 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Johnston, SC, followed by a funeral service at the church at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kelly Thomas, Bruce Willing, Keith Griffin, Raymond Westburg, Russell Wilkes, and Russ Wilkes.
