Eric and I knew each other as “the other Eric”. Reading some of the other words posted it makes it hard to say something else so will confirm and and agree what others have said about Eric. But one must include Sheila as well. The good things I try to do in life are because of my wife Carson. Eric was able to be generous, caring and loving because of Sheila. I first met Eric and Sheila as they were caring for Lance, who happened to be in the hospital. Beth and Lance remained friends of Eric and Shiela as each family moved to Aiken after being neighbors years ago in Ohio. Eric was a very caring person, when friends were in the hospital, Eric was quick to visit and try to meet any needs necessary to improve the situation. One of Eric’s professional talents was his role in consulting the medical industry to always strive for increasing quality and satisfaction to enhance a healthier lifestyle for each community Eric worked in. These passions took Eric worldwide through various medical practices. So obviously Based in my professional position as one of the Administrators at Aiken Regional, we became friends. The friendship resulted in my youngest son Brad having exposure to real woodworking as Eric and Sheila spent time showing Brad how to make things from blocks of wood such as a bowls, pen and pencil holder for my desk and other items even fancy ink pens designed by Sheila. Eric and Sheila often included us in celebrating Jewish holidays always ensuring we understood the meanings and history. Eric and Sheila have stuck together through thick and thin especiallyt through Eric’s medical journey over the past few years. His outlook on life was wonderful. I will miss Eric but will remember our good times, good advice, good food always prepared perfectly and shared with others, and true friendship.

The world has lost one of its best husbands, fathers, psuedo-fathers, professionals, hard-workers, humble, intelligent, charismatic men. He and my Dad will now meet, yet again, only this time to watch their girls they introduced over 21 years ago from Heaven above, rather than impromptu visits, 'stalking' us at college! Thank you to Mr. Light, my 'College Dad', for introducing me to the best, lifelong friend a girl could ever have.
May the memories you all have 'lighten' your hearts. All our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Mama Light, Sarah & Abbs-- I'll see you Friday. Love to all!
