AIKEN, SC—Mildred Goodson Murdock, age 98, entered into rest peacefully Monday, September 24, 2018.

Mrs. Murdock was born June 7, 1920 in Royston, GA to the late Bert and Nancy Goodson. She had made Aiken, SC her home since 1987, having previously lived in Ware Shoals, SC and Trion, GA. Mrs. Murdock was of the Baptist faith and loved to shop, play bridge and “antique.” Her greatest passion was her love and affection for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Murdock was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, the late Henry Bryson Murdock; three sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Millie Strawhorn (Barry), Aiken, SC; two grandchildren, Bryson Strawhorn and Baylor Strawhorn (Trina); three grandchildren, Reed, Blake, and Ty Strawhorn; a brother, Howard Goodson, Anderson, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 2603 Due West Hwy, Belton, SC 29627. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to MSA Hospice,186 Fabian Dr., Aiken, SC 29801 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
