Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Windsor, SC – Michael Timothy Blackwelder, 52, loving husband of Malinda Reed Blackwelder, entered into his eternal rest Thursday morning, September 13, 2018 at his residence. Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday afternoon, September 17, 2018 in the James Funeral Home Chapel, Wrens, GA, with Pastor Tom Schultz officiating.
One of five children born to Betty Norton Blackwelder Taylor and the late Mack Artis Blackwelder, Michael was a native of Wrens. After attending Wrens High School, he went into the construction business. He enjoyed working with his hands, especially with wood. His specialty was as a painter-- he was a renowned painter in the CSRA, and could do wonders with a paint brush. It has been said that he took painting to a totally different level. He enjoyed fishing, but had a passion for cooking. His first love was music and the guitar—playing his guitar gave much solace and soothed his soul. A hard worker and loyal friend, he was always ready to help others when he could. One of his best qualities was just lending an ear and listening to others—just being there. Michael loved his family and will be greatly missed.
Other survivors include his children, Crystal Seago (Jeremy), Candace Blackwelder, Courtney Wade, Lance Blackwelder, Carlton Shaw, Patricia Shaw, Amber Shaw-Johnson (Dale), Bryce Hardy and Brandon Hardy; four siblings, Mark Blackwelder, Artis Blackwelder, Tammy James and Patrick Blackwelder (Patricia); seven grandchildren, Stacy Seago, Andrew Seago, Amiya Edwards, Chloe Grant, Trevor Shaw and Lily Johnson; nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends in the James Funeral Home Chapel, Wrens, GA, after the services Monday afternoon, September 17, 2018.
