Obituary of Leslie Vernon Hall

SALUDA, SC- Leslie "Buddy" Vernon Hall, age 75, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, SC.
Born July 2, 1939 in Aiken, SC, he was a son of the late Marvin Leslie Hall and the late Docia Lee Courtney Hall. Mr. Hall proudly served his country in the US Army, National Guard, and Army Reserves. He was of the Baptist faith and retired after 36 years of service with the Milliken Company. Mr. Hall enjoyed music, crossword puzzles, and sports. He was an avid college football fan and loved the Clemson Tigers, the Atlanta Braves Baseball team, and NASCAR. His family said that he will be remembered as hard worker and a good person that saw the good in everyone.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Jean Raborn.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Katherine Rowe Hall, of Saluda, SC; four daughters and sons-in-law, Susie Mae Hall-Hayes (Alfred), Bartow, FL, Leslie Hall Fields (Tony) Saluda, SC, Jody Hall Clarke (Keyma), Saluda, SC, Angela Hall Scoggins (Daniel), Brunswick, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Von Hall (Sherry), Abbeville, SC; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a half-brother, Gilbert "Butch" Wall (Nancy), Trenton, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Shiloh Baptist Church. The Reverend Tim Bush will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at George's Funeral Home in downtown, Aiken, SC.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association or the church of one's choice.
