Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Brown Kays will be held Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 2 PM at the First Christian Disciples of Christ Church, Aiken, SC, with Pastor Don Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC. Pallbearers will be Adam, Christopher, & Larry Dean Kays, Robert, Jason, & Ronnie Stutts. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 12, 2005 from 6 until 8 PM at George Funeral Homes, Southside Chapel, 3175 Whiskey Rd., Aiken, SC. Mrs. Kays, 85, of Phenix City, AL, died Sunday, afternoon, January 9, 2005. Born in Wichita Falls, TX, she was a daughter of the late Eddie Lawrence Brown and the late Ruth Marie Kerns Brown Nunley. Mrs. Kays had been a resident of Aiken, SC from 1951 where she retired from E.I DuPont as a Lab Technician until relocating to Phenix City, AL in 1999. She was a member of the First Christian Disciples of Christ Church. She is survived by sons, Larry Dean Kays, Phyllis Asheboro, NC and Joe Hamilton Kays, Susan Aiken, SC; daughter, Terry Stutts, James Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Adam, Christopher, and Larry Dean Kays, Robert and Jason Stutts, and great-grandchildren, Blake Kays and Larin Stutts. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Disciples of Christ Church, 900 Kerr Dr., Aiken, SC 29803 or the Alzheimer?s Association, c/o the Council on Aging, P.O. Box 3156, Aiken, SC 29802. .
