Funeral Services for Shirley S. Widener will be held on Saturday November 20, 2004 at 10am at Redds Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Rogers and Rev. James Irick officiating. Interment is private in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Karen Schultz 1023 Cherokee Ave. in Aiken Friday, November 19th from 4-8pm. Mrs. Widener, 68, of Aiken, died Wednesday at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. She was a life-long resident of Aiken County and a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church. Before retiring, she had work at ASCO as a quality assurance worker. She was pre-deceased by her father, Monroe Sadler and her husband, James R. Widener. She is survived by three daughters; Linda Moore, Williston, Karen Schultz, Aiken and Sharon Sheppard, Aiken, a son Manning Monroe Widener, Georgia,her mother, Dorothy ''Dot'' Manley, Aiken, SC; a sister; Debbie Wright, Appling, GA, Geraldine Bullard, Trenton, who Shirley raised as a daughter, and nine grandchildren, including Joni Widener and Toni Kissiah, both of whom she raised. Shirley also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
