Funeral services for Mr. Tony Winfield Winburn will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 11am at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken, with Pastor Phillip Lee officiating. . Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Kitchens, Kevin Orander, Keith Gregory, Jerry Gregory, Tommy Hibbitts, and Steve DBord. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC, 29201, and MCG Foundation, c/o Stem Cell Research, Attn: Brook Vaught, 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912 Mr. Winburn, 48, of Aiken, died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at his residence surrounded by his loving family Born in Hartsville, SC, he was the son of Margaret Locklear Winburn and the late Charles Winburn. He lived in Aiken most of his life. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Westinghouse in Columbia and at the Savannah River Site and for International Paper in Augusta. He graduated from Aiken High School and attended Newberry College on a football scholarship. While in high school he played football, basketball, and was on the track team. He loved sports, hunting, fishing, building houses, and being with his family and friends. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Victor Winburn. Tony is survived by his mother, Margaret Winburn, wife, Lunette Moore Winburn, son, Chuck Carter, daughter, Hillary Winburn, both of Aiken, sister, Susan Economakis, brothers, Jay Winburn, Eddie Winburn, granddaughter, Blaine Ashley Carter, numerous nieces and nephews.
