Everyone is invited to attend the funeral for Mr. Tony Mitchell on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 3:00pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Interment will take place at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hamm, Olin Osbon, David Randall, Steve Meador, Tom Johnson, Nelson Price, Danny Martin, Luther Kibler, Joe Hilton, Dennis Lundblade, members of the Aiken Shrine Club, Aiken Masonic Temple and the Jamil Temple. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the Shriner's Hospital Greenville, 950 West Faris Rd. Greenville, SC 29605. Mr. Mitchell, 55 of Aiken, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was born in Augusta, GA and was a life long resident of Aiken, he was the son of Jean Gorlayer Mitchell and the late Oconer Daniel Mitchell. He had worked for Owens Corning for twenty-one years, retiring as a Training instructor in 2001. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lyn Padgett and a great granddaughter, Mika Boyd. He is survived by his wife; Janette Cockrell Mitchell, Aiken, two sons; Robert Kathy Padgett, Batesburg, SC and Jimmy Patty Padgett, Bluffs, IL, a daughter; Debra Smith, Windsor, SC, four sisters; Ann Williams, Carrie Billy Clemmons, Bonnie Bryant and Cherry McCall, three brothers; Jimmy Silvia Ferquerson, Jessie Stephanie Ferguerson, and Charles Mitchell. He is also survived by four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, thirty two nieces and nephews, special friends; Joey Randolph, Pete Haldezos and Larry Hamm and his precious, precious babies; Peanut, Tiny and Topper.
