A requiem Mass for Ms. Monika C. Burke will be celebrated at 1:30pm on Friday, November 23, 2012 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken, Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER is assisting the family. Ms. Burke, 51, of Aiken, died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at her residence after a long illness. A daughter of Ernst and Rita Eikerling Cvikl, she was born in Vienna, Austria and had lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL before moving to Aiken ten years ago. Monika had worked as a paralegal assistant in Ft. Lauderdale and more recently, for UPS in Aiken before her illness forced her to stop working. She was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken. She is survived by her parents, Ernst & Rita Cvikl, Aiken; a daughter, Angela Bonner, Saginaw, MI; a son, Nicholas Simons, Saginaw, MI; a brother, Alexander and fiance', Renee Rhodes Columbia, SC and a sister, Kornelia James Mitchell, British Columbia, Canada. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Michaela Bonner, a step-granddaughter, Athena Bonner and a niece, Aquilina Mitchell.
